The Very Revd. Tim Barker
Installed as Rector of St. Andrews and Dean of Guernsey in 2015, we are greatly privileged that Tim has agreed to join our team, despite his other wide-ranging responsibilities. Whilst we are anxious to encourage clergy from a wide range of Christian denominations, Tim will provide our essential anchor to the Church of England.
After leaving Manchester Grammar School, Queen's College Cambridge and Westcott House Theological College Tim was ordained at the age of twenty three. He held a variety of appointments in the Diocese of Chester before moving to Spalding in Lincolnshire as Vicar of St. Mary & St. Nicholas. Later he was promoted to Rural Dean with responsibility for thirty seven parishes and subsequently, in 2009, was appointed Archdeacon of Lincoln.
His expanding portfolio subsequently grew to include diocesan governance, church buildings, pastoral care & discipline of the clergy. He is a member of the General Synod, Chair of the National Archdeacons Forum & a member of the Church Buildings Council.
